Abstract
In this paper, one-dimensional CaF2/TiO2 photonic crystals (1D-PhCs) are studied. We have used CaF2 as material of low refractive index and TiO2 as a high refractive index material. The effects of the thickness of layers, incidence angle and number of periods on the spectral reflectance have been investigated using transfer matrix method analysis (TMM). For a large range of wavelength, the PBG structure is found to exhibit high reflection which can be exploited in devices such as optical resonators, mirrors, etc. The effect of Gaussian distribution of layer thickness error also has been investigated.
