Abstract
Charge carrier transport via drift-diffusion model has been investigated in organic bulk-heterojunction solar cells. With the Pasveer's mobility model, the distributions of charge carrier mobilities in organic active layer change obviously (more than one order of magnitude, according to our simulations), due to the effect of carrier density. The dissociation rate of electron–hole pair, recombination, and net generation rate in the organic bulk are determined simultaneously by the electron and hole concentrations. The distribution of carrier density directly affects the charge transport and extraction efficiency.
