Abstract
Digital image correlation (DIC) is a non-contact and powerful optical metrology for full-field measurement of deformation and strain fields. In DIC, computer-generated random speckle patterns are usually used for the performance verification of DIC due to the advantages of well-controlled, high sensibility and high correlation coefficient. Comparative studies of the different random speckle patterns simulation models are presented. The verification of the simulation models is investigated through a DIC method for determination of in-plane translation and rotation, respectively. Finally, the deformation measurement relative errors corresponding to different simulation models are shown.
