Abstract
Electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in the five-level cascade scheme of 85Rb atoms is investigated by analytical method. In the weak field limit of the probe light, the linear susceptibility, absorption, and dispersion coefficients have been derived in analytical forms. Unusual EIT signatures of the system are studied in details.
