Abstract
An automatic fringe counter for the equally tilting fringe of Michelson interferometer is designed by CCD and image processing technologies. This system can identify the center of equal tilting interferogram automatically in different degrees of illumination intensity, then draw a curve which shows the variation of the central intensity for every frame, at last count the integer and fractional fringes by searching technology. It can detect fractional fringes, the curve of intensity variation can reveal the velocity, pause, vibration and dithering of the moveable mirror clearly.
