Abstract

Crystals of zinc-antimony oxide are synthesized by Solid state synthesis technique. Fine crystals of zinc-antimony oxide are formed by heating the sample at 900 °C for one hour. Crystals are investigated using single crystal X-ray diffraction and found that the compound crystallizes in the tetragonal crystal system with a space group-135, P 42/m b c, indicating primitive tetragonal crystal structure. Crystal structure refinement and ORTEP representation of the zinc-antimony oxide shows two distinct crystallographic oxygen atoms represented by O1 and O2·FTIR spectrum also describe ZnO and SbO bonds formation and improvement in optical absorption properties.
