Abstract
⺠Adult digit tip regeneration in mice involves blastema formation and re-differentiation. ⺠Re-differentiation occurs by intramembranous ossification. ⺠The mouse blastema has reduced vascularity. ⺠Osteoclasts mediated bone degradation results in injury-induced re-amputation. ⺠Regeneration is imperfect and is an example of an evolved regenerative response.
