Abstract
⺠We analyzed the volatomes of 4 ectomycorrhizal, 3 pathogenic and 2 saprophytic fungi. ⺠We detected 54, including 15 novel VOCs from the different ecological fungal groups. ⺠The fungal species and the functional groups differed in their volatile patterns. ⺠We used the VOC patterns to chemotype the fungal species and groups. ⺠The different ecological groups could be predicted with probabilities of 90-99%.
