Abstract
⺠8-CPT-AM, a new membrane-permeant selective activator, was used to activate Epac. ⺠8-CPT-AM prolonged action potential, without change in other parameters. ⺠Action potential prolongation by Epac is due to a decrease in sustained K+ current. ⺠β-AR stimulation with PKA inhibition mimicked 8-CPT-AM effect on action potential.
