Abstract
⺠Somatic KCNJ5 mutations occur in up to 40% of APA. ⺠KCNJ5 mutations lead to activation of calcium signaling and increased aldosterone production. ⺠Adrenals with APA display increased nodulation, reduced vascularization and zona glomerulosa hyperplasia. ⺠Presence of KCNJ5 mutations is not correlated with adrenal cortex remodeling.
