Abstract
⺠We stimulated the calcium sensing receptor (CaSR) in adipose cells and tissue with the calcimimetic cinacalcet. ⺠Cinacalcet elicited an elevation in the expression of inflammatory cytokines. ⺠NFκB inhibition partly reverted the observation suggesting it mediates the effect of CaSR stimulation. ⺠The CaSR could play a role in obesity-induced adipose tissue dysfunction.
