Abstract
⺠Coupling between Ca2+ entry through SOC and ER refilling is extremely tight. ⺠SERCA is the third element of SOC and colocalizes with STIM and Orai at puncta. ⺠Coupling is very sensitive to Orai/STIM stoichiometry. ⺠Coupling of SOC to mitochondria is much looser than to the ER.
