Abstract
⺠The molecular basis for tissue and cell type-specific expression of GHSR has not yet been fully elucidated. ⺠The 5â²-flanking region of the rat Ghsr gene was structurally and functionally characterized. ⺠The minimal promoter region was mapped to a region 200-bp upstream from the novel 5â²-untranslated first exon. ⺠DNA methylation and histone modifications at the Ghsr proximal promoter were highly correlated with mRNA expressions.
