Abstract
► Transgenic mouse model containing the intact human growth hormone gene locus. ► The majority of human growth hormone (GH) producing cells co-localize with mouse GH. ► Human GH RNA levels are increased by dexamethasone and decreased by thyroid hormone. ► Growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) receptor levels are increased by dexamethasone. ► GHRH stimulates human GH release in the presence of dexamethasone in culture.
