Abstract
⺠The role of estrone on cellular biochemistry of vascular endothelium was evaluated. ⺠The steroid displays an own mechanism of action with distinctive features. ⺠Estrone (E1) stimulates endothelial cells growth and survival. ⺠E1 prevents LPS-induced monocyte adhesion and adhesion molecules expression. ⺠The presence of estradiol impairs the hormonal response.
