Abstract
Peritoneopericardial hernia is a rare congenital anomaly in cats and dogs. It results in a communication between the pericardial bag and the peritoneal cavity. The clinical signs are often not specific and depend on the volume and nature of the herniated organs. The cat shows, as for this case, essentially respiratory signs. Diagnosis imaging (thoracic radiographs and echography) is necessary to establish a diagnosis. The treatment is based on surgery and consists in the closure of the diaphragmatic wound. The associated prognosis is good. This case describes precisely the diagnostic and therapeutic steps of gestion of peritoneopericardial hernia.
