Abstract
French and English bulldogs present breed-related ocular anomalies, which tend to increase the frequency of corneal diseases. The brachycephalic morphotype, qualitative and quantitative lacrymal deficits, ciliary and palpebral anomalies, lack of corneal sensitivity are at the origin of marked keratitis or can be pejorative factors of corneal ulcers. Complications of these corneal diseases are frequent and severe in these breeds and may lead to blindness or eyeball compromission.
