Abstract

The evolution of the Poynting vector and angular momentum spectrum of the airy complex variable Gaussian (ACV-Gaussian) beam are analyzed and described as it propagates in free space. A numerical approach is used to show the Poynting vector follows the tangent line of the direction of propagation and the longitudinal normalized angular momentum redistributes towards a few points along the beam center with the further distance during propagation. The ACV-Gaussian beams are diffracting and rotating which is different from airy beams. The angular momentum spectrum of the ACV-Gaussian beam is firstly accessed, and its frame is independent on the axis of propagation.
