Abstract

Laser absorption spectroscopy was combined with an algebraic iterate algorithm to optimize beam arrangement for temperature and concentration reconstruction. A sequential quadratic programming algorithm (SQP) based on the adaptive simulated annealing algorithm (ASA) was added to improve computational efficiency and obtain an optimized optical layout. Numerical results show that temperature and concentration reconstructed using the optimized beam arrangement have normalized absolute errors of 2.08% and 0.94%. The optimal beam array design reconstructs images effectively compared with parallel- and fan-beam projection given the same number of projections. The beam optimization strategy can provide the experimental design heuristics.
