Abstract
► 2-Desoxoparaherquamide (2-DOPH) has direct and marked effects on motility in cut Caenorhabditis elegans worms. ► 2-DOPH is a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) antagonist in C. elegans. ► Monepantel and derquantel may not suffer from a negative interaction if used together. ► Classical nAChR antagonists lack affinity for the monepantel-sensitive receptor. ► Permeability properties of C. elegans may limit its use in anthelmintic screening.
