Abstract
In this paper, we propose a method to design optical thin films. The method is composed of three main steps: Convergence Step, Jump Step and Gradual Evolution Step. Convergence Step is realized by conventional Damped Least Square to converge to a local minimum. Jump Step can produce a number of random solutions to escape from poor local minima. Gradual Evolution Step is applied to generate a new structure for further improvement. The experiment results indicate that the proposed method provides a new way to deal with the thin film design problem.
