Abstract
We propose a novel modulation format of 50% RZ polarization interleaved multiplexing DQPSK for high-speed self-homodyne receiving systems. The proposed modulation format enables excellent tolerance of chromatic dispersion and polarization crosstalk. In self-homodyne receiving systems, the proposed format can reduce the cost of adaptive equalization module. It has potential applications in long-reach self-homodyne optical communication systems.
