Abstract
The reflectivity spectrum of double-band mirror (DBM) is calculated via transfer matrix method. According to the structure of the DBM, the thermal model of optically pumped semiconductor vertical-external-cavity surface emitting lasers (OPS-VECSELs) with DBM is constructed and the distribution of thermal load in the VECSEL wafer is presented in the paper. The thermal characteristic of OPS-VECSELs is analyzed in detail via finite element method. Compared with VECSEL wafer with DBR, the VECSEL wafer with DBM has better thermal properties and poorer thermal performance when they are of the same thickness.
