Abstract
This contribution reports on methodological challenges implementing Germany's current national BCA guideline into the underlying transport supply-demand model. In applying the workflow to a shortlisted set of road construction project proposals in a rather sparsely populated rural area, the benefit-cost ratio results turned out to be highly specification sensitive. Based on this finding, the authors recommend a consistent road project definition and appraisal process as well as a standardized parametrization of transport supply-demand model runs for this sphere of application.
