Abstract
In the existing experimental studies of cable subjected to fire home and abroad, there is a problem that the failure criterion is not uniform. In this paper, the criteria used in the past has been summarized and classified, a new criterion based on the cable working condition is presented which takes the effect of fire consequences in account. The failure time calculated by using this criterion could not only reflect the maximum working ability of the cable, but also reduce the error caused by the sample randomness. Through the experimental study, we find that the result is more accurate and closer to the practical application.
