Abstract

In this paper, the effect of the rotation on longitudinal waves in an elastic solid with a cylindrical hole has been investigated. Under the technique of simultaneous differential equations, we derive the frequency equation for the propagation of longitudinal waves in an elastic solid having a cylindrical hole. The effect of the rotation on the dispersion curve and the phase velocity has been plotted against for non-dimensional wave number. The absence of rotation is a particular case of this paper.
