Abstract

The mathematical model is constructed for the flow of a non-Newtonian fluid, induced by the peristaltic motion in a non-uniform channel with porous walls. The solution is obtained by perturbation method assuming long wave length as well as low Reynolds number. The analytical solution obtained is observed graphically to study the impact of several parameters. The pressure difference ΔP decreases as the Darcy number Da increases and the pressure difference increases as the yield stress τ and also as well the porous wall thickening ɛ increase. Also it is observed that the volume flow rate reduces with increase in Darcy number where as increases with increase in τ and ɛ when plotted against the pressure difference and exactly the reverse behavior is observed for the frictional force for the same parameters.
