Abstract
This study is a case report of a 47-year-old man in acute heart failure following massive myocardial infraction requiring veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. The patient was kept awake awaiting heart transplantation. Early active physiotherapy was possible to maintain respiratory and motor capacity helping to reduce later complications linked to bed rest and optimizing post-transplant recovery.
