Abstract
This study identified supportive factors and barriers of SSC in ELBW infants in a tertiary neonatal unit. It ascertained the facilitation of parental readiness, development of clear guidelines, provisions of continuing education as well as organisational support as supportive factors in the implementation of SSC in ELBW infants. Furthermore, humidity was perceived as an additional barrier for SSC in these infants.
