Abstract
This paper describes a randomized flight-by-flight loading sequence for the L 410 commuter airplane. Principles of the sequence and the scope of simulated load cases are presented in the first part of the paper. The second part deals with effects of a low-load omission of airborne spectra in terms of fatigue crack growth. M(T) specimens made of 2124-T851 and 7475-T7351 aluminum alloys were used for the investigation. Each alloy was tested using a full and a shortened (i.e. with applied omission) loading sequence.
