Abstract
Nursing constitutes the greatest segment of the health care workforce. The 400,000 nurses serving in leadership positions influence practice environments, patient experience, health care quality, and cost per capita. Sixteen expert panelists met last winter to discuss the role of the nurse leader in support of the Quadruple Aim. A secondary analysis of discussion transcriptions was managed using Atlas.ti data management software (ATLAS.ti Scientific Software Development GmbH, Berlin, Germany) for content analysis to identify categories, codes, and themes.
