Abstract
This paper addresses network management at resource zone level through the use of a real-time, multi-criteria pump scheduling tool, Miser PS. Miser PS was integrated within Anglian Water operations as a stand-alone, semi-automated, open-loop system. It is estimated that the application of Miser PS has achieved a 3.4% energy reduction on the studied system equivalent to £217000 or 428tn of CO2eq per year and improved asset knowledge and asset management. In addition, Miser PS has facilitated scenario testing to prepare for planned and unplanned events such as drought events and improved network resilience.
