Abstract

Computer controls systems have been in use in Florida phosphoric acid plants since the 1990's. The systems control the sulfate, P2O5 strength, filter feed and rock rate. Productions improvements of over 20% in throughput and 8% in recovery have been reported. While these systems are still in operation, new control systems have been developed that should provide even better control. The systems will be described as well as the cost of implementation.
