Abstract
In addition to clinical tests, there are different neurophysiological methods to assess autonomic functions. Most of these are non-invasive and emerge as valuable either to assess both parasympathetic and sympathetic autonomic dysfunction or parasympathetic or sympathetic dysfunction alone. For the detection of autonomic nervous system abnormalities, a combination of individual methods as a test battery is recommended. Values should be compared with normative data obtained in our own laboratory. Here is an overview of practical implementation and evaluation of different non-invasive methods to measure autonomic nervous system function.
