Abstract
This paper seeks to identify the critical factors that help logistics processes in cases of environmental disasters. We show empirical evidence based on a case study that corroborates the Balcik theoretic model. A qualitative, exploratory research design, as well as thematic content analysis, was used. Eleven interviews were conducted, which were transcribed and triangulated with observations in document reviews. Here, we provide an explanation of the different roles into the chain: suppliers, donors, beneficiaries and distribution center. We find that all links in the chain manifested post-disaster.
