Abstract
Developing care pathways in chronic diseases aims to improve quality of care and support for patients by linking the different professionals directly or indirectly related to health care. To date, models used for chronic diseases in children do not include nutritional status and its management. However, good nutrition is essential for the harmonious development of the child. It plays a key role in the evolution of chronic diseases in terms of morbidity and mortality but also in terms of quality of life of patients and their relatives and hospital costs. For all of these reasons, it is essential that the scientific societies work on the systematic integration of evaluation of nutritional status and the various nutritional strategies into all pediatric care pathways as the management of pain. Finally, optimization of access to care, as the reimbursement of dietary counseling in private or public hospital, creation of platform for physicians as well as public and media awareness on the issue of malnutrition are also essential.
