Abstract
TBU during STARE trials was associated with increasing ocular discomfort, which was partially blocked by wearing a CL, supporting the hypothesis that TBU directly stimulates the corneal surface. Repeated STARE trials led to increasing discomfort and dry-eye like symptoms of ocular irritation, suggesting that repeated bouts of TBU can lead to alterations in ocular surface sensory processing.
