Abstract

This paper presents a hybrid algorithm that integrates the project priority (or criticality) with project schedule development for multi-project scheduling problem under resource constrainedsituation. The objective here is to minimize the project make-span as well as the penalty cost when some projects carry higher priority. Since the problem is NP hard, we solve this problem by integrating the project priority with the activity priority. The project schedule is generated using a hybrid algorithm based on priority rules and AHP. The proposed algorithm is demonstrated to be better than existing priority rules. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is validated with computational results.
