Abstract
This paper focuses on the new way of earth structures for transport engineering design and performance with respect to sustainable construction. There are two possibilities how to evaluate these modern earth structures either by energy and natural raw materials use or by comparing the amount of CO2 consumption during the life cycle of the structure. Few practical examples leading to savings in energy, raw materials and land are presented. Also notes regarding the influence of natural and man caused hazards are mentioned.
