Abstract
Airway management must be considered cautiously in our intensive care patients. Emergency intubation conditions beside haemodynamic and respiratory status of ICU patients must be associated to a systematic risk, and lead us to a careful organisation. Also, extubation failure, leading to worse prognosis has to be prepared. We report and discuss the mean points of the last French guidelines (Sfar/SRLF) to optimise the management of these two procedures in ICU patients.
