Abstract
Hypertonic saline is more and more frequently used in paediatric intensive care. Its haemodynamic effects at the level of the systemic and cerebral (cerebral blood flow and intracranial pressure) circulations are reviewed. The few paediatric studies dedicated to its used in case of intracranial hypertension and shock are critically reviewed.
