Abstract
This was the first study in which CS blood was sampled and measured for isoflurane concentration. The CS isoflurane concentration could be estimated from the isoflurane concentration in the oxygenator exhaust gas. However, the value of this relationship is limited because the CS isoflurane concentration does not accurately represent its myocardial levels during CPB.
