Abstract
Within the neuroendocrine tumors of the pancreas, insulinomas are tumors of generally benign behavior and cause of endogenous hyperinsulinism. We present the case of an adult patient with prolonged hypoglycemia secondary to malignant insulinoma with regional dissemination and poor cellular differentiation, besides a review of the diagnostic and therapeutic approach of this type of tumors.
