Abstract
Our data support the protective influence of PPAR-γ-exon 2 and exon 6 variants on IR and beta cell function, whereas IRS-1 polymorphism is associated with an unfavorable metabolic profile. However, these associations do not fully explain the high metabolic risk associated with PCOS.
