Abstract
Botulinum toxin type A, is used compassionately for anal sphincter dyssynergy, chronic anal fissure, vestibulodynia and pelvic pain caused by muscle spasm. Its 2 main effects are relaxation of muscle fibre, and analgesia that is specific to the toxin.
