Abstract
The delamination in a fiber composite is studied. The development of the multiscale model of the laminated composite consisting of eleven layers is presented. The numerical simulation of the fiber/resin delamination is performed by the finite element method using cohesive elements. The area under the stress-strain curve for carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) is used to evaluate the energy release rate. A commercial FEM software package Marc (MSC program for nonlinear analysis) is used to perform the simulation.
