Abstract
In the present study vitamin B12 deficiency is found to be more common than folate deficiency. Majority of studied population are found to be hyperhomocysteinemic (93.06) and vitamin B12 was found to be reason for the hyperhomocysteinemia. Combination of genetic mutation (MTHFR C677T) and nutritional deficiency (vitamin B12 and folate deficiency) seems to have survival disadvantage in the hyperhomocysteinemic individuals.
