Ablación mecánico-química de la vena safena con el catéter ClariVein® (MOCA): aspectos técnicos y revisión de la literatura

Thermal endoluminal ablation techniques are the reference treatments of incompetent saphenous vein. However, these techniques need tumescent anaesthesia which increases pain and discomfort during and after the procedure. In addition, heat entails a risk of neurological and skin lesions. Mechano-chemical ablation with ClariVein® catheter does not require either heat or tumescent anaesthesia. Consequently, it involves a low rate of pain and disturbances during and after the procedure, as wells as a fast recovery time to normal activities with a lower risk of neurological and skin lesions. In addition, the anatomical occlusion rates and improvement in severity and quality of life scores are similar to thermal ablation techniques in the short-term.
