Impact of Regional Collaboration on Quality Improvement and Associated Cost Savings in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting

A regional collaboration using a statewide STS and an all-payor database with focused quality improvement is a powerful tool for change. Despite rising risks for mortality and morbidity, outcomes for PV and RF improved and produced significant cost savings. Applying these efforts nationally can enormously affect patient care and health care costs.
