Abstract
The incidence of reoperation for first rib resection in cases of vTOS is low and appears largely due to missteps during the initial operation. Awareness of potential errors including inadequacy of resection, intraoperative disorientation, and misunderstanding of the limitations of surgical approaches will result in fewer reoperations.
